Art Weeks

Somerset Art Weeks has finished for the past two weeks I have been sharing a venue at the Greenwood Guest House with two painters showing our work we have been open from 11-6 every day quite a challenge, however despite this horrid resession we have all sold work. This event was a first for me I was a little apprehensive about taking part as it is quite an investment in time and money, feedback from our visitors was very favorable lots of lovely comments. The consensus of opinion was that mixing painting, book binding and textiles made our venue a must to visit. Now is the time to work on new stock ready for the Christmas market. I will be re visiting my Folksy shop as it has sadly been neglected over the past month I will be re stocking from tomorrow.

During Art Weeks I was able to visit some of the other venues I was really impressed by the talented artists and crafters in this beautiful county. We had a chance to go to historic Wells where there were a number of venues whilst visiting the city we called into a fantastic vintage haberdashery store also a beautiful gift shop called The Hops Room which stocked lovely gifts some hand crafted and a really warm welcome from the owner.

Became quite fond of this little fellow sculpted by Margaret Micklewright willow pony.
